Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) apply to all services provided by Reflect Marine Ltd, trading as UK Boat Surveys (“we”, “us”, “our”), and set out the basis on which we undertake marine surveying work for clients (“you”, “the client”).
1. Our Services
We provide independent professional boat surveys, including but not limited to:
- Pre-Purchase Surveys
- Insurance Surveys
- Damage Assessment Reports
- RIB and Small Craft Surveys
- Pre-Season Health Checks
- Liveaboard Suitability Surveys
- Valuation Reports
- Other marine consultancy services as agreed in writing
A detailed scope of work will be agreed before the survey is booked.
2. Booking and Acceptance
A survey booking is confirmed upon written agreement (including email) between the client and us. By confirming a booking, you accept these Terms.
3. Fees and Payment Terms
- A full quote will be provided before the survey.
- Survey fees are based on vessel type, length, complexity, location, and urgency.
- Payment is due before the release of the final written report.
- We accept payment by bank transfer. Payment details will be included with the invoice.
- Where agreed in advance, we may allow payment within 7 days of the survey date. However, reports will not be released until full payment has cleared.
Note: We reserve the right to request payment in advance for certain services (e.g., urgent surveys, new clients, high-travel-cost jobs).
4. Cancellation Policy
If you need to cancel:
- More than 48 hours’ notice: no cancellation fee.
- Less than 48 hours’ notice: a cancellation fee of £100 may be charged to cover admin and scheduling costs.
If we must cancel due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g., weather, illness), we will reschedule as soon as possible.
5. Access and Vessel Preparation
You are responsible for ensuring the vessel is:
- Made available at the agreed time and location
- Accessible for inspection (including keys, hatches, covers)
- Safe for boarding and survey
- Free from obstruction to enable proper inspection
We are not liable for missed issues due to inaccessible areas.
6. Reporting
- Reports are provided in digital PDF format and emailed after full payment.
- Standard turnaround is 48 hours unless an express 24-hour service is agreed.
- Our reports reflect the vessel’s condition at the time of inspection and are based on non-invasive, visual examination unless otherwise specified.
7. Limitations of Survey
- Our surveys are non-intrusive unless agreed.
- We do not dismantle, remove panels, or test systems unless expressly requested.
- Engine surveys are not included unless agreed as a separate service.
- Moisture readings and equipment checks are included where appropriate.
8. Liability
- Our total liability is limited to the survey fee paid.
- We are not liable for consequential loss, indirect damages, or any business interruption.
- Reports are provided solely for the client’s use and may not be shared or relied upon by third parties without written permission.
9. Insurance
We hold appropriate Professional Indemnity and Public Liability insurance. Evidence of cover is available upon request.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
11. Your Acknowledgement
By engaging our services, you confirm that:
- You have read and accepted these Terms
- You understand the limitations of a non-invasive marine survey
- You will ensure access and readiness of the vessel
- You will pay in full prior to receiving the written report
